Day 1: 14.08.25
🐟 Detwah Lagoon Experience
Our adventure begins in Abu Dhabi, where we board our flight to the island of Socotra.
After completing all entry procedures upon arrival, we head straight to the stunning Detwah Lagoon — a marine protected area famous for its surreal, dreamlike landscape. With shallow turquoise waters and soft white sands, it’s the perfect spot to swim, sunbathe, or simply unwind in nature’s embrace.
We’ll enjoy a fresh lunch within the protected area, then head to visit Alaya, the “Cave Man” of Socotra, a local icon known for his warm hospitality and unique lifestyle. He’ll serve us freshly caught seafood, share stories, and guide us around the nearby lake, introducing us to different fish species and the island’s traditions.
🌅 And to close the day in true Socotra style, we’ll gather on the beach for a live sunset DJ set — dancing barefoot in the sand as the sky turns gold and the stars begin to appear.

Day 2: 15.10.25
🐬 Qalansiya – Shoab Beach 🏝️
After breakfast, we’ll set out to explore the western side of the island.
Our first stop is Qalansiya, a charming traditional fishing village. From there, we’ll hop on a boat and cruise toward the remote beach of Shoab. During the ride, there’s a high chance we’ll spot Spinner Dolphins and other fascinating marine life.
Once we reach Shoab Beach, you'll have plenty of time to swim, unwind, and take in the unspoiled beauty of the area. Don’t miss the chance to stroll through the nearby mangrove forest, a peaceful habitat full of life and natural wonder.
Day 3: 16.10.25
🌄 Dixsam Plateau – Derhur Canyon – Fermhin Forest
After breakfast, we begin our journey into Socotra’s highlands, heading to the Dixsam Plateau, located around 700 meters above sea level. This region is rich in endemic plant life, most famously the iconic Dragon’s Blood Tree, as well as other rare species unique to the island.
We’ll stop at the stunning Shebanon Viewpoint, offering panoramic views over the dramatic Derhur Canyon below. The landscape here is simply breathtaking — filled with unusual rock formations, towering cliffs, and an overwhelming sense of raw natural beauty.
From the viewpoint, we’ll descend into the wadi (valley) of the canyon for a relaxed lunch break and a gentle walk, with the chance to swim in freshwater pools surrounded by untouched nature.
In the afternoon, we continue toward the legendary Fermhin Forest — the last remaining dense woodland of Dragon’s Blood Trees in the world. This is one of the most iconic and surreal landscapes on the island. Here, local guides will share stories and traditions, showing us how they have collected the valuable red resin of the tree for generations.
This day combines highland views, lush canyons, rare flora, and a deep connection to Socotra’s cultural and ecological heritage.
Day 4: 17.10.25
🏜️ Omak Protected Area – Digub Cave – Hayf & Zahek Sand Dunes
After breakfast, we head south to explore a completely different side of Socotra. Along the way, we’ll pass through a few local villages that offer a glimpse into the island’s everyday life.
Our first stop is the pristine Omak Beach, where you can swim in the refreshing, clear waters of the Indian Ocean and enjoy the peace of this untouched coastal paradise.
For lunch, we’ll visit the fascinating Digub Cave, which opens onto panoramic views of the valley below, dotted with traditional Socotri villages. Inside the cave, you’ll discover stalactites, stalagmites, and small natural pools formed over centuries from seeping groundwater — a cool, quiet spot perfect for relaxing and exploring.
In the afternoon, we continue to the towering Hayf and Zahek Sand Dunes, dramatic golden hills pushed up against the mountains by Socotra’s powerful seasonal winds. If you're up for the challenge, a climb to the top offers a breathtaking view and an unforgettable moment of silence and scale.
From ocean to cave to desert, this day is all about contrasts — and the wild, raw beauty that makes Socotra so extraordinary.
Day 5: 18.10.25
🌿 Homhil Nature Reserve
Today we journey to the Homhil Protected Area, a unique ecosystem home to some of Socotra’s most iconic endemic plants, including the legendary Dragon’s Blood Tree, the aromatic Frankincense Tree, and the vibrant Desert Rose.
We’ll explore Homhil on carefully selected hiking trails. One of the highlights is a natural infinity pool located at a scenic viewpoint. From here, enjoy panoramic views of the villages below and the shimmering expanse of the Arabian Sea – a truly unforgettable sight.
Day 6: 19.10.25
🏞️ Explore Hoq Cave & unwind at Arher Beach
After an early breakfast, we’ll continue our adventure on the eastern part of the island, getting to the legendary Hoq Cave – the largest cave on Socotra Island. We begin a scenic 1.5-hour hike, up the mountain to reach the cave’s entrance, followed by another hour exploring inside.
The cave is also renowned for its stunning crystal formations – glistening stalactites, stalagmites, and glimmering calcite floors that make the cave feel like a hidden cathedral.
After descending the mountain, we’ll make our way to the tranquil Arher Beach. Here, fresh spring water flows from the mountains and meets the salty waves of the Arabian Sea, creating a unique spot for relaxation.
You’ll have time to swim, explore, or climb the towering sand dunes before we set up camp under the stars. Enjoy a peaceful dinner and overnight stay at the Arher Beach Campsite.
The night begins as the stars gather above, watching us dance to the live mix of our DJ.
Day 7: 20.10.25
🐠 Dive into Dihammri & relax on Delisha Beach
Today, we make our way to the Dihammri Marine Protected Area, one of the most biologically rich coral reefs in the Socotra archipelago. Here, you can swim, snorkel, or dive among vibrant coral gardens and dozens of species of colorful marine life. For those interested, snorkeling and diving equipment is available for rent at the Dihammri Diving Center.
After enjoying the crystal-clear waters of Dihammri, we continue to the serene and striking Delisha Beach. This wide, golden-white shoreline is known for its dramatic coastal cliffs. On one side, you'll notice sandy river channels — seasonal pathways where rainwater flows during the wet months. Though the midday sun can be intense and shade is scarce, the beauty of this place is worth the walk .
In the evening, we return to Hadiboh, the capital town of Socotra. Here, we’ll take a leisurely walk through the local streets and have time for some last-minute shopping —perfect for picking up unique Socotri souvenirs or handmade crafts.
We'll spend our final night in comfort at a local hotel in Hadiboh or near the airport, preparing for departure the next day while soaking in the last peaceful moments of island life.
Day 8: 21.10.25
✈️ Departure Day – Farewell, Socotra
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Socotra Airport for our return flight to Abu Dhabi. As we say goodbye to this magical island, we carry with us unforgettable memories of wild landscapes, ancient traditions, and once-in-a-lifetime adventures.

Our first trip to Socotra was in November 2022. The island amazed us, stirred something deep inside, and ultimately brought us a sense of peace that’s hard to describe.
We returned in the following years — and that’s when we truly felt the magic. Imagine being alone on a beach with the softest white sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and absolute silence, broken only by the wind and the rhythm of the waves. That’s Socotra.
